My House

Up early this morning for an 8Am appointment for blood work. This is a follow up from a few months ago. I really hate this fasting for 12 hours before you go in because I miss my morning coffee. But you do what you have to do.

After donating a few vials of blood I returned home for that coffee and to wait a bit before I went back out to run errands. Around 4:30 the doctors’ office called and informed me that I had to come back in on Thursday morning and redo my blood work. Of course this means I am going to have to fast again for 12 hours before. Either the lab messed up or I am…. Will find out on Thursday I guess.

Took a trip to Nicks’ Pets around 10:00 to see if I could collect the rest of the money which he owed me from when I sold him all those birds last year and cages. I sold out my breeding operation last year about this time. To my surprise he paid me in full. That only took 12 months to collect but then I did say he could take his time and he has been paying a little every month.

 We had afternoon thunderstorms move through the area but that can be expected this time of the year. This is our rainy season in South Florida and it makes for a good nap and on most days I enjoy a good nap.

I really don’t have anything I want to rant and rave about today. Now that isn’t entirely true but I need to think it over a little more before I share with everyone. Don’t want to offend anyone.

After Happy Hour next door I spent the evening watching a few TV program before I turned in early.

- 8 & 9 May 2012     Thunderstorms in the afternoon -

Nothing out of the ordinary over the past two days.

The renters moved into 709 and got their truck all unloaded I think. I am sure everyone over there is really busy getting things together. I sure don't miss moving. For 50 years of my life I moved every two or three years. My Dad was military and so was I so it was always one transfer after another.

Lance had an appointment at the beauty shop today and then Thursday is his birthday. I can't believe he is going to be 10 years old already. I have had him for 8 years and it sure doesn't seem it.

After dealing with the electric company on the account at 709 which my last tenant stuck me with I took a late afternoon nap. I headed up to St. Augustine's around 7pm on Tuesday to meet up with someone from TN. I am transferring some cargo that needs to get back to the Nashville area and this person met me more than halfway. I didn't get home until 3:45am as they were late getting to the drop point.

I slept until about 9:30 this morning and then just got up and putts around the house. After lunch I took another nap and it was a long one. I am getting too old for all this driving I guess because it sure takes a lot out of me.

We missed all the afternoon thunderstorms today but they are forecasted to be back tomorrow. As much as we need the rain we don't need the high winds and thunder and lightening. Poor Lance doesn't like all the thunder at all.

After a good supper and a little TV it was off to bed. I am wore out.

What a slow starting Sunday.

After taking my sweet time getting out of bed and a good breakfast I really had nothing of interest to do so it was hang on the computer for a few hours. Now I didn't mean to lead you to believe I didn't have anything to do because I have more to do than I care to think about. My modification  is lacking.

Made a quick run to Winn-Dixie to get some food for supper and the started to watch the pre-race show on TV.

NASCAR was at my favorite track this weekend and although I didn't make this Spring race I am going to make the Fall race. Probably be the only one I go to this year.

I didn't make it to the start of the race and I decided to lay down for a nap. Like I said I think my "Getup and go done got up and went". When I got up I had to run a neighbor out to the store so I missed the whole race. right this minute I couldn't tell you who won. That isn't like me at all.

Why do so many people have a problem with two little words??????? You may be surprised at the number of people who do not know how to say "THANK YOU" when something is done for them. It seems lately I have been running into more and more people who when you do something for them act like you were supposed to have done that or it was expected of you. I do a lot for people and I really don't ask for anything in return except maybe their friendship but it sure would be nice to hear the words THANK YOU ever once in awhile. Just a thought.......

Later this week I am going to make a run up to St. Augustine's to take my house guest to meet up with a connecting ride so they can get back home to the Midwest. Other than that my plans for the week are none.

- 5 MAY 2012          Sunny and 85 Degrees -

It was truly a beautiful day here in South Florida for all those who were celebrating the 5th of May and having BBQ's or just enjoying the beach.

For myself it was another day of rest. I sort of ran myself down the past few weeks and I need to relax and get back to the old grind. I think that with completion of fixing up the small house again and with the new renters in both the other houses things will finally get back to normal. Sure hope so because I was getting really tired of the whole mess.

This coming week will be a little hectic as the new renters move into the little house and will be getting settled in. They are due to arrive sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning from North Carolina.  

My next project is going to clean all my misc junk out of the  house next door. I think most of it could go for a yard sale but a lot I want to keep. Anyone into RC model boats and Helo's let me know...... I have a few. Don't have the faintest idea why but I guess it is the collector in me. As I mentioned yesterday I am going to rent a POD and just put everything in there and then have it moved around on the pad behind my house and go thru it as the spirit moves me which probably means Alicia and Tammie will have to deal with it someday. Sorry loves. (-_-)

It looks like the only race I am going to try and make this year will be the fall Talladega race. Things just look like they are working out that way with the big trip and all. Hopefully Mary will be able to hook me up with a parking place as I don't have mine anymore. There was a day I had tickets and parking for 29 races but that ended a few years back when I had to come off the road. Don't know if I will ever work back up to that again or not but only time will tell. Sure miss the friends and the tailgating we did.

Tonight was spent watching a movie or two and early to bed for me. Have to be ready for the race tomorrow from my favorite track. Sure hope they don't get rained out.
